Instructions to Apply
To submit your application, you must log in into your Microsoft account. If you do not have one you must create an account to be able to save your filled application form.
Overview of the Application Form
The online application form has 7 sections. Candidates are kindly asked to fill the questionnaire carefully. Once submitted the application form can be saved as a PDF or can be saved for editing during the application window. A sample questionnaire can be downloaded from here to have an overview on the questions that need to be answered.

- Applicants are kindly asked to identify up to three researchers (supervisors) with whom they would like to work within the CoE. They should contact the potential host supervisors to obtain feedback on prospective research topics. Please see the list of KRs with open postdoc positions.
- Applicants must submit a scientific statement on why they want to join the Excellent Brain Postdoc Program. They must detail their research interests and career plans (max 600 words).
- Applicants must submit a research statement by describing their scientific achievements focusing on the background, aim and major findings of their project (i.e. PhD thesis or current research project). They should highlight their specific contributions (max 600 words).
- Section 5: Other questions related to data protection and consent.
- Section 6: Attachments.
- Applicants must upload their CV with List of Publications, and their Academic Records (PhD diploma and undergraduate diplomas listed in the Application form) as one PDF document, named as NameLastname_PostdocProgram.
- All documents must be submitted in English. Copies of university transcripts must be in both English and in their original language.
- Documents can be uploaded using the link in the questionnaire (The uploaded files will be securely stored in a dedicated Microsoft OneDrive cloud space, specifically designated for the Excellent Brains PhD Program).
- Section 7: List of referees:
- Applicants should name 3 referees; one must be their PhD thesis supervisor. Referees must submit their reference letter by the deadline (10.08.2025). It is the applicant’s responsibility to remind the referees to submit their reference letter on time.
Please note that incomplete or incorrectly filled application forms, as well as applications missing the three reference letters, will not be considered for review.
Applications and reference letters will not be accepted after the respective deadlines of the Postdoc Call and the submission of reference letters.
The online applications will be reviewed by three KRs of the CoE, and the best applicants will be short-listed. If there is something that needs to be clarified candidates will be contacted via zoom/teams/E-mail.
